Klaus Plaszczek – Silesian congressman, born in Zabrze, long-time chairman of the Landsmannschaft der Oberschlesier e.V., and one of the pillars of the World Silesian Congress – passed away on July 3, 2025.

He was the voice of Upper Silesians living in Germany – those who, after the war, did not return to Silesia but succeeded in rebuilding and preserving their Silesian identity in a new home.

For decades, he united the community, gave it hope and strength.

We will remember him as a good man, faithful to his identity and to the Silesian cause.

We will miss you.
